Tillie B. Watters, 98, of Grove Manor, Grove City, PA, formerly of W. Oakwood Way, New Castle, passed away the evening of April 26, 2011 in Grove Manor.Born October 23, 1912 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Michael and Regina Schweinfurt Bender. Mrs. Waters was a graduate of Union High School and was married to Alford Watters who preceded her in death in August of 1976. Tillie was employed with the Western Southern Life Insurance Company in New Castle for thirty-nine years as Secretary - Treasurer. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran church. Among her many interests, she enjoyed sewing, quilting and playing both the piano and organ.She is survived by one sister, Mary McClain; six nieces and two nephews, Doris and John Clark, Dolores Kolesar, Rosemary and Al Smith, Sandra and Ronald Johnson, Gail and George Owens, and Deborah McClain, Larry and Joan Roberts, and Gary and Deborah Roberts.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Michael and Thomas Bender; three sisters, Virginia Edel, Katherine Yahn and Ann Roberts; one niece, Virginia Mae Johnson and one nephew, John Edel.Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2011, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. David Chambers will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Hospice Care of Butler Hospital, 612 N. Main St., Butler, PA 16001.
