Timothy Lee Smith, 51, of Norwalk, California (formerly of Enon Valley, PA) died Friday, October 13, 2017, in Lakewood Regional Hospital, California. Born August 28, 1966, in Rochester, he was the son of Ronald E. and Phyllis (Brandt) Smith. Known for his smile, joy, and ability to make people laugh, Tim will be missed by many. Left to mourn their loss and grateful for his gain in addition to his parents are his three sisters, Tamara (Larry) Rowles of Phoenix, AZ; Taryn (Paul) Miller of New Brighton, PA; Tiffany (Brian) MacQuarrie of Enon Valley, PA; four nephews, Joshua and Tyler Rowles of Phoenix, AZ; Ethan Miller of New Brighton, PA; Noah MacQuarrie of Enon Valley, PA; two nieces, Kaitlyn Miller of New Brighton, PA, and Mikayla MacQuarrie of Enon Valley, PA. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ray and Ruth Brandt, and his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Bertha Smith. Tims passion for directing began at an early age when he wrote, directed, and starred in his first play entitled Work I Hate at the age of ten. He would frequently write plays, incorporating songs and lighting cues, and recruit his two younger sisters (one would frequently drop out before opening night) to perform in front of any audience he could drum up. He would type out programs (on a typewriter whose letter e would frequently stick) to hand out during the performances, design costumes, and build sets. He would then invite elementary, junior high, and senior high teachers, as well as family members to attend his many performances. As Tim grew older, his passion for directing theater performances and his creativity intensified. He had a gift for extracting amazing talent from individuals that were not even aware they possessed such a talent. He had a unique vision for pushing the boundaries; just ask any cast member who worked with him at First Baptist Church in New Castle, PA when he directed the Christmas Outreach programs. Things like incorporating a revolving stage, a working train to transport cast members within the sanctuary, and flying angels were never ideas that were out of reach for Tim. He performed with groups such as Sonshine Praise and The Continental Singers before founding his own theater group, Sunrise Theatre. Through these ministries, Tim touched the lives of many people with his infectious laugh, joyful smile, sense of humor, and heart for God. Tim spent his last eight working years creating magical moments for many children and others at his dream job at Disneyland.
