Obituary

Tyler James Nelson, age 33, of Windsor, NC, formerly of Bessemer, PA, passed away unexpectedly on March 7, 2025. He was born Sept. 8, 1991, in Youngstown, OH.

Tyler served many roles throughout his brief thirty-three years. His first role was that of son to Lisa Buly Nelson and James Nelson. He was the youngest of three boys and grew up idolizing his big brothers, Josh (Nikki) Nelson and Brad (Beth) Nelson.

He was the apple of his mother's eye; he was her love personified. He carried on the family role of mechanic, following in his dad's and big brothers' footsteps. He was the proud employee of North Carolina Department of Transportation where he worked on the department vehicles. Most recently, he worked in Ashville, North Carolina helping with the post hurricane clean up.

While the role of son, brother, and mechanic were incredibly important to Tyler, they did not come close to the most important role of his life: father to the children he shared with Lacey Swagger. Regardless of what was occurring in his life, when Chesney, Gannon, or Paislee walked into the room Tyler's eyes lit up. His children were his greatest achievement, and he will forever be remembered through each one of them.

Playing football, softball, baseball and fishing were some of his favorite hobbies. Tyler was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed being outdoors and riding dirt bikes.

Tyler is also survived by several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, Whiloh and Hailey and nephews, Brandon, Cody, Keith, and Noah.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
