Vernon Kimble, 97, of Pulaski Township passed away Wednesday July 24th at his residence. He was born January 31, 1927 in Branch WV and was the son of the late David & Hannah (Self) Kimble. He had two brothers Herbert (Dolores) and Earl (Joyce); one sister Arvella (Vernon) Carpenter; two half sisters Bernice (Harry) Wilson and Gertrude (Harold) Howsare and a half brother Denver (Evelyn) Kimble.

He was a WWII veteran having served in the US army in the 88th Infantry Division. After his military service, he pursued a career as a truck driver hauling steel, freight, and chemicals until his retirement in 1992.

He married his beloved wife Evelyn (Mostoller) of almost 70 years on January 31,1953.

They resided In Stoystown, PA until their move to Pulaski, PA in 1971.

He was a member of The First Assembly of God church in New Castle, Pa. He enjoyed gardening and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn; brother Herbert; sister Arvella; half-sisters Bernice and Gertrude; half-brother Denver and son-in-law Dennis Kirk.

He is survived by his brother Earl (Joyce) of Bedford, PA; sons Greg (Crystal) of Meadville, PA; Ronald (Tammy) of Panama City, FL; daughters Donna Zinn (Harry) of Raleigh, NC, and Barbara Kirk of Arvada, CO. Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 3rd, from 2:00-4:00 pm followed by a memorial service at First Assembly of God church 2021 Pulaski Road New Castle PA.
