Viola C. Belknap, age 88 of New Castle, passed away the early morning of Aug. 25, 2022, at her residence. Born May 22, 1934, in Erie, PA, she was the daughter of the late William Cowles and Viola (Sweet) Cowles Cameron. On Sept. 6, 1952, she married her husband of 54 years, William A. Belknap. He preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 2007. Viola worked at Strouss Department Store and Neshannock High School cafeteria, before becoming a full-time homemaker. She loved to exercise at the Y-Zone three days a week, take trips to the Casino and dance. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Clen Moore Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her daughter, Linda J. McKee of New Castle, PA; one brother, George Cameron of New Castle, PA; one sister, Joann Elder of Florida; and one grandson, Zachary McKee. In addition to her parents and husband, Viola was preceded in death by her stepfather, John Cameron; brother John Cameron; sister Edna May Johns and her son-in-law, Ronald McKee. In keeping with her wishes there will be no visitation or services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.
