Obituary

Violet R. Bryan, 98, of New Castle, passed away the evening of January 28, 2018 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born April 21, 1919, in Youngstown Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Verbon Frankovich. Violet graduated from New Castle High School. She went on to work at the Continental Packing Company, where she retired. She enjoyed her life to the fullest. She was crowned Labor Day Queen in 1937. She loved watching Mass on TV and listening to Polkas on Sunday. Violet loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers play football, she never missed a game. She was a member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish in New Castle. Violet is survived by a son Ronald (Elaine) Bryan of whom she resided with in New Castle, her brother Joseph Frankovich of New Castle, Nephew Joe Frankovich, Jr. of New Castle, Niece Kim Gwin of Bessemer PA., three grandchildren, Shelley Wickline, Lisa and Chad Gaiser, and two great grandchildren, Alex and Dylan Wickline. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Clara Gettings. The family will be forever thankful to the Rehab Unit at UPMC Jameson Hospital for taking such loving and great care of their mother. You were all so special to her. Private Visitation and Blessing Service will be held by the family at their convenience. Arrangements are being entrusted by the R.
