Virginia Elizabeth Fleming, age 101, of New Castle passed away the morning of December 20, 2016 at Avalon Nursing Center. She had been a resident there since 2007.
Born on November 17, 1915 in Coaltown (New Castle), she was a daughter of Roy S. and Bertha M. Thomas Kneram.
She married Donald H. Fleming on October 18, 1953. He passed away in 2001. Her former husband, Williston Seward, passed in 1990.
After attending New Castle High School, Virginia became a homemaker and delighted in taking care of her family. She loved to collect dolls and make beaded Christmas ornaments.
Survivors include her children, Donald (Loretta) Seward of New Castle, Carol Pickzo of Denton, North Carolina, Janet (Gerald) Inman of New Brighton, PA, Gary (Cathy) Seward of Punta Gorda, Florida and Susan Wolfe of Ravenna, Ohio; a brother, Richard (Mickey) Kneram of Ohio; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and two husbands, Virginia is preceded in death by two sisters, Grace King and Florence Ruth Kneram; four brothers, Harold Glenn, Kenneth, Robert and George Kneram; and one grandson, Douglas Seward.
A private service will be held at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle with Rev. Steve Miller of Faith Country Chapel officiating.
Burial will be at Unity Baptist Cemetery.
