Virginia M. Wilson Stokes, 87, of Pulaski Pa. passed away the morning of May 2, 2010 at her residence.Mrs. Stokes was born Jan. 2, 1923 in New Castle Pa. to the late Robert M. and Grace Arow Wilson. She married William R. Stokes Sr. on Jan. 19, 1957. He preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 2005. Mrs. Stokes was a housewife. She attended Union High School and enjoyed baking, travel and country music.She was a former member of Highland Presbyterian ChurchSurvivors include one daughter, Pam Gardner of Pulaski Pa.; one son, Gary Ferree of Sigel Pa.; three step-daughters, Jackie Stokes of Fort Myers Fla., Nancy Lutz, and Judy Smock both of New Castle; and one step-son, William R. Stokes Jr. of Willow Grove, Pa.; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; and 13 step great grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Jean Neilson; a brother, Ray Wilson; and a sister, Dorothy Atwell McKim.Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd.A service will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Milton Nichols, pastor of Khaletown Community Church officiating.Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
