Vivian M. Brown, age 94, of New Castle, passed away the morning of December 14, 2016 at her residence. Born February 26, 1922 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Chester A. and Dorothy A. Karns Stevens. She was preceded in death on August 3, 1997 by her husband of 56 years, Walter E. "Bud" Brown, whom she married on September 9, 1940. A graduate of New Castle High School, she was employed by the New Castle School District in the cafeteria for 15 years. She was a member of Wesley Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Ronald C. Brown of Union City, Randall E. Brown of New Castle; one daughter, Sandra L. Thomas of Mechanicsburg; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Russell L. Brown; and one grandson, James S. Brown. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with the Rev. William Lavelle officiating.
