Vivian R. Tyler Davis, age 98, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of January 22, 2016 at the Haven Convalescent Home.
Born August 9, 1917 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Harry L and Catherine J. Harris Thomas.
Vivian was preceded in death on August 25, 1987 by her first husband of 36 years, Charles B. Tyler, whom she married on October 3, 1950. She subsequently married Richard I. Davis on April 30, 1996, who passed away April 3, 2004.
Vivian was a homemaker, a member of Wimodausis, and attended Third Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two step-daughters, Patricia Carbone of New Castle, and Carol McCarthy of Winter Haven, FL; one step-son, Charles H. Tyler of Clermont, FL; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Catherine H. Thomas and Ethel Minick; and 3 brothers, Albert H., Edgar L. and Walter S. Thomas.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.
A funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the great-great nephew of Vivian's, Neil Orchard, officiating.
Burial will be in Castle View Cemetery.
