Vivian C. Menning, 94, formerly of Edinburg, passed away the morning of September 24, 2018 at Lawrence County Geri Care. Born April 3, 1924 in New Castle, Pa, she was the daughter of Karl and Caroline (Zeigler) Rohrer. She was preceded in death on May 19, 2006 by her husband of 58 years, Rudolph M. Menning, whom she married June 28, 1947. A graduate of Union High School, she was employed as a secretary with J. J. Stevenson, Architect. Vivian was a volunteer with Western PA Adult Literacy as well as the Election Board. Vivian loved being artistic and often enjoyed painting. She was a talented seamstress and baker of delicious pies and rolls. She enjoyed spending summers on Georgian Bay in Ontario. She was a lifetime member of the former Harbor U.P. Church until her membership with Shenango Presbyterian Church. She participated and volunteered in many aspects of church functions within both churches. She is survived by one daughter, Carol (Gary) McClenahan of Edinburg, PA; one son, Thomas (Melissa) Menning of Warren, Ohio; four grandchildren, Ryan (Errin) McClenahan, Cory (Samantha) McClenahan, Christa Menning and Kiley (Paul) Pal; and four great-grandchildren, Landon, Spencer, Beckham and Chase. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, William Russell Rohrer and one sister, Margery Strohecker. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00-1:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Glen Crytzer officiating. Burial will be in Castle View Gardens.
