W. Paul Patton, 70, of 5076 Matthews Road, Edinburg, passed away the morning of June 15, 2011 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.Born April 4, 1941 in New Castle, he was a son of William G. and Amy Yard Patton. Paul married Beverly Cameron on Septebmer 1, 1962. He was a graduate of Union High School and Youngstown University. He received his Master's Degree in Education and his Principalship from Westminster College.Paul was a teacher with the Neshannock School District for thirty five years where he later retired. He also taught at the Eagle Heights Academy in Youngstown, Ohio and for seven years was employed at Lowe's Home Improvement.He was a member of Mt. Jackson Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent and youth leader.Paul was a past member of the Bessemer Rotary Club. Among his many interests were gardening, woodworking, travel, and fishing. His greatest joy was being with his family and his yellow lab, Bailey Tucker.In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Lori and Kevin Griffin and Heather Patton, all of Edinburg; two brothers, Dr. Charles W. Patton of New Castle and M. Gayle Patton of Edinburg; and one granddaughter, McKenzie Griffin.He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Robert L. Patton, and one sister, Ruth English.Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2011, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Bud Green will officiate.
