Walter E. Miller, 79, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of May 24, 2013 at Jameson Hospital. Born August 8, 1933, in Bessemer, PA, he was a son of Charles and Pearl McCurdy Miller. He was preceded in death on May 6, 2005, by his wife, Patricia DuPuy Vaughn Miller, whom he married October 4, 1958. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Walter was a supervisor with Bessemer Cement and previously was employed with Universal Rundle and McClure Security where he was a security guard. Walter enjoyed the times he spent at his camp in Tidioute, PA, where he was also a member of the VFW. He was of Methodist faith. He is survived by his four daughters, Susan Bellino, Carole Miller, Melanie Turner and Bonny Turner, all of New Castle; one sister, Betty McCurdy of Enon Valley; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A memorial service will immediately follow visitation at 6:00 at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Bupp officiating.
