Walter J. "Dudie" Tomon, 89, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of December 17, 2020 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born September 26, 1931 in New Castle, he was the son of Joseph and Aniela (Mrozek) Tomon. Mr. Tomon was preceded in death in 2013 by his beloved wife of 62 years, Joan (Robinson) Tomon. A graduate of Union High School, Walter was employed with Bruce and Merrilees as a material handler until his retirement. He enjoyed bowling with the William and Roger DeCarbo, Sr. Bowling League, fishing and camping. He loved spending time with his family and his beloved Maltese, Princess and was a member of Center Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his two daughters, Kathy (Ron) Green and Linda (Bill) Young, all of New Castle; one sister, Jennie Vargo of Castaic, CA; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Gary Lee Tomon and four brothers, Stanley, William, Ted and Edward Tomon. Due to Covid, there will be no visitation at this time. A private graveside service will be held for the family at Mr. Hermon Cemetery.
