Wanda Beatrice Turner, 95, passed away April 6, 2012 at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Chip Chamberlain of Neshannock Township.Born October 7, 1916 in Mercer, she was a daughter of John and Sylvia Simonton Whitmore Lewis.She married Frank W. Turner on May 29, 1937. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1994.She was a graduate of New Castle High School.Wanda and her husband Frank were the owners of Turner Jewelry Store for many years. She was also a homemaker.She was a member of First Christian Church for most of her life.Wanda's favorite thing in life was spending time with her grandchildren.Wanda's family wishes to extend special thanks to Brad, Cat, and Deb from Odyssey Hospice for all their compassion and care.She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Charles (Chip) Chamberlain of New Castle; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank C. and Ruth Turner of New Castle; a sister, Ruth Sheridan of New Mexico; two loving granddaughters, Joy (Jason) Hill and Michelle (Patrick) Fee of New Castle; two great-grandchildren, Sabrina Katherine Fee and Michael Joseph Hill; several nieces, Naomi Williams, Judy Mariano, Sylvia (Dan) Jones, Linda (Tony) Carbo, Patty Whitmore, Margy Allman, and Margy Turner; several nephews, Pete (Barb) Hackett, Brian (Pat) Hackett, Larry Hackett, Dan, Bob and Kim Whitmore, Bill Turner, Tom Turner and Mark Turner; and other family members, Linda (Steve) Ridge and Earl (Janet) Williams.In addition to her parents and husband Frank W. Turner, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Laverne Hackett and Dorothy Walls; and two brothers, George Whitmore and Elmo Whitmore.Visitation will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Douglas Shoaff will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The 700 Club, CBN, 977 Centerville Turnpike, Virginia Beach, VA 23463.
