Wesley R. Stoner, age 81, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of July 22, 2024, at his residence.
Born February 9, 1943, in New Castle, he was the son of E. Claire and Irene L. (McNeish) Stoner.
He was preceded in death on August 6, 1994, by his first wife of 30 years, Willa "Kathy" (Pitzer) Stoner whom he married April 4, 1964. He subsequently married Delta L. (Stearns) Stoner on March 16, 1996. She survives at home.
A 1961 graduate of Laurel High School, Mr. Stoner was a self-employed construction worker. He also was the manager of Tic Toc Food Mart and worked for Hovis Auto Parts.
Among his many interests, he enjoyed woodworking, golf, fishing and travel. He was a member of Westfield Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon.
In addition to his wife Delta, he is survived by two daughters, Christine L. (Rob) Esposito of New Castle and Kimberly P. (Charlie) Rudesill, of Enon Valley, PA ; two step-sons, Christopher (Christine) McKim of Ephrata, PA and Craig (Angelina) McKim of Cleveland, OH; one brother, Raymond C. (Diane) Stoner of St. Petersburg, FL; one sister, Nancy K. (Larry) Blews of New Castle; twelve grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Kathy and one brother, John Stoner.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle and also from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, at Westfield Presbyterian Church, 1363 Mt. Jackson Road, New Castle.
A funeral service will take place following the visitation on Friday at 7:00 with Pastor Bobby Griffith officiating.
Burial will be in Westfield Presbyterian Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be offered to Anova Home Health and Hospice, 101 West Main Street, Carnegie, PA 15106 or the Westfield Presbyterian Church Foundation of Hope.
