Willa Mae Allison, age 91, of Shenango-on-the-Green in New Wilmington, passed away the afternoon of February 3, 2017 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born August 13, 1925 in West Sunbury, Pa., she was the daughter of Howard F. and Jesse Christy Allison. Willa Mae retired after 44 years from Cooper Industries in Mt. Vernon, Pa. as a bookkeeper in 1989. She was of the protestant faith. She is survived by one brother, Charles F. (Martha) Allison of Ellwood City; two sisters, Verna Zedreck of West Sunbury and Pearl Stark of Bolivar, NY; and 31 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Guy, Bob, Wayne and her twin brother Willis Allison; and two sisters, Virginia Hogg and Claridel Abbot. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday immediately following visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Matthew Bupp, Celtic Hospice Chaplain, officiating.
