Willa Mae Gavroy, 90, of Neshannock Township, passed away the morning of March 6, 2018 at Orchard Manor in Grove City. Born May 20, 1927 in New Castle, PA, she was the daughter of John Nelson Hilliard and Goldie Boughter Hilliard. She was preceded in death on December 16, 2005 by her husband of 58 years, Norman P. Gavroy, whom she married on October 3, 1947. A graduate of New Castle High School, Willa Mae was employed with Elizabeth Forward High School as the librarian for 14 years. In addition to her many interests, she enjoyed line dancing, puzzles and games and was active in several card clubs and with Challenges. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. She is survived by two daughters, Leslie D. (Larry) Matta of Oakdale, PA and Marsha J. (Duane) Watt of Sharpsville, PA; 3 grandchildren, Lisa, Nikki and Shelly; and 5 great-grandchildren, Madison, Landen, Tyler, Jayden and Dominic. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00-1:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 1:00 at the funeral home with the Rev.
