William L. Anderson, 63, of Ben Franklin Highway, Edinburg, passed away the evening of May 23, 2014 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.Born December 11, 1950 in New Castle, he was a son of Robert D. and Margaret Houston Anderson, and step-son of Jean Anderson.Mr. Anderson was a graduate of Lawrence County Vo-Tech, and served his country in the Army during the war in Vietnam.He was employed with the Mahoning Township Road Department for over 40 years.Bill enjoyed hunting and gardening.In addition to his step-mother Jean, who resides in Edinburg, he is survived by a son, David A. Anderson of Edinburg; one sister, Bonnie (George) Honsa of Texarkana, Arkansas; a sister-in-law, Joyce (Ed) Edwards of Stow, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert D. Anderson, Jr.Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will take place of Friday, May 30, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev. Gary DeWitt.Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
