William 'Bill' Howard Houk, age 73, of New Castle, PA, passed away the afternoon of June 13, 2026, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born Aug. 18, 1952, in Ellwood City PA, he was the son of the late Elmer and Helen (Kaufman) Houk.

On Aug. 2, 1975, he married his beloved wife of 50 years, Susan Wallace. Mrs. Houk survives at home.

Bill was a graduate of Laurel High School. He worked as a custodian, employed by Laurel School District for 36 years, taking great pride and dedication to his work. He enjoyed being outdoors, cutting grass, fishing, and hunting. He was an avid collector of Grinch memorabilia, which reflected his fun-loving personality. He was a Trustee and faithful member of Evangel Community Church.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his children, son, Daniel Houk of Pittsburgh, and daughter Heather Houk of New Castle; one sister, Debra Wily-Pharr of New Castle; and his cherished furry companions – Betsy, Molly, Muffin, and JoJo.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 19th from 4:00 - 5:00 pm at Evangel Community Church, 1530 Harlansburg Rd, New Castle, PA 16101.  A memorial service will immediately follow at 5:00 PM with Pastor Harry E. Edenhofer, officiating.
