William W. Boyles, 94, of New Castle Street, New Castle, passed away the morning of January 19, 2016 at The Overlook Medical Center.
Born July 13, 1921 in New Castle, he was a son of William Boyles Sr. and Mary Margaret "Madge" Shirk Boyles. William married Sylvia Burgess Boyles on September 23, 1942 whom preceded him in death on November 14, 1995.
William graduated from New Castle High School in 1940 and served with the National Guard.
He began his employment at Johnson Bronze for three years. William then became an assembler and calibrator for thirty years with Forney's Inc., retiring in 1987. William was also a deliveryman for Butz Flowers for 25 years.
William enjoyed woodworking and photography. He had a love for music which he showed by playing the French horn in the Military National Guard Band.
He is survived by four sons, Larry W. (Donna) Boyles of Cherry Hill, NJ; Harry "Jim" J. Boyles of New Castle, PA; William G. (Barbara) Boyles of N. Little Rock, AK; and Richard T. (Kathy) Boyles of High Point, NC; thirteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, Alan L. Boyles, and daughter-in-law, Lynda Arlene Boyles.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and also Saturday from 10:00 a.m. –Noon at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.
Funeral service will be held at noon at the funeral home with Rev. Chris Weichman officiating.
