William C. Jones, 83, of West Pittsburg, went to be with the Lord peacefully with his family by his side the afternoon of March 24, 2019 at Avalon Place. Born August 6, 1935 in New Castle, he was the son of David C. and Lida M. (Burns) Jones. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ella (Donnelly) Jones, whom he married on August 7, 1953. Prior to his employment with Babcock and Wilcox in Beaver Falls, he was employed with American Can Company in New Castle. Mr. Jones was the charter member of Evangel Community Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, William A. (Patty) Jones, of New Castle and Ricky J. (Lisa) Jones of West Pittsburg; 3 grandchildren, Alyssa (Nick M.) Jones, Kaelyn Jones and Corey Jones; and 3 great-grandchildren, Parker, Sophia and Nickolette. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, James, Gaylord and Leonard Jones; and one sister, Ellen Drake. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, from 5:00-6:30 pm at Evangel Community Church, 1530 Harlansburg Road, New Castle. A Memorial Celebration of Life service will take place immediately following visitation at 6:30 at the church with Pastor Harry Edenhofer officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
