William George Klenotic, 78, of Hunter's Woods, passed away at home after cardiac arrest on April 1, 2011.Bill was born in New Castle on May 7, 1932, to George and Irene Klenotic. He graduated from New Castle High School in 1949 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1951, serving in Korea until 1955. He was married to Mary Ann Fruit Klenotic from 1956 to 1977. Bill worked from 1956 to 1971 in the printing industry, first at Universal Printing and then at Brindle Printing, both in New Castle. He also worked in editorial and advertising capacities at the New Wilmington Globe and published a community bargain bulletin. He served as an admissions officer for veteran students at New Castle Business College. Bill then began an 18-year career in advertising sales, working four years for L.M. Berry Yellow Pages Company, based in Harrisburg; he was named salesman of the year for western Pennsylvania in 1973. He then worked for J.D. Sheedy & Associates, based in Pittsburgh and a division of Thomas Publishing Company. Bill was a deacon at Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church and served as president of the New Castle Optimists Club. After retiring, Bill worked part-time as a bus driver for Rhodes Estates assisted living center. He was married to Barbara Taylor Klenotic, of New Castle, for 30 years. She will miss him terribly. Bill was a genuine people person who loved the company of his family and many friends and knew how to lighten the hearts of everyone he met. He had a keen mind for history and was an avid historian and champion of western Pennsylvania. Bill was a lifelong fan of the region's sports teams, and, like his father, loved fishing the local lakes.Survivors include son, Mark Klenotic (wife Diane); daughter, Dianne Klenotic; daughter, Deborah Klenotic; son, Jeffrey Klenotic (wife Elizabeth); grandchildren, Luke, Kellie, and Kaitlin Klenotic; wife Barbara; stepson, Gary McKissick (wife Sue); step-grandchildren, Taylor and Marissa Lubinski and Nichole, Justin, and Brandon Barry, Ben Nero; and step-great-granddaughter, Jenalyn Nero.Visitation will be held Sunday, April 3, 2011, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and Monday, April 4, 2011, and from 11 a.m.-12 noon at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd.Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011, at noon at the funeral home. The Rev. Chris Weichman will officiate.
