William Anthony Nulph, 80, of 129 Meadow View Drive, New Bern, NC, died May 4, 2010 at his residence.Born March 3, 1930 in Evans City, PA, he was a son of James E. and Elizabeth Mae Burr Nulph. He was previously married to the former Norma Alexander. Mr. Nulph married Beryl E. Smith Nulph on October 1, 2000. She survives at their home in New Bern, NC.He was a 1947 graduate of Evans City High School where he played the tenor saxophone in the band. He then graduated from the Stenotype Institute of Pittsburgh in 1948.He was a PFC in the National Guard of Pennsylvania, Battery B, 724th AAA Gun BN where he was honorably discharged in 1958.Mr. Nulph retired from Blair Strip Steel in 1987 where he was a purchasing agent and inside sales representative for over thirty one years.He was a life member of BPOE of New Castle, PA and New Bern, NC. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing golf and going to flea markets and yard sales. He also liked remodeling homes and mobile homes for resale.He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in New Bern, NC.In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Diane Rene Nulph of Morrisville, PA; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Drew H. and Terri Nulph of Portsmouth, NH and Darin W. Nulph of Savannah, GA; one brother and sister-in-law, Edward C. and Shirley Nulph of Evans City, PA; one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley M. and Dr. Dayne Wahl of Zelienople, PA; and one granddaughter, Casey Nulph of Portsmouth, NH.He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, David J. Nulph in 1976 and one sister, Esther M. Green.Visitation will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, may 15, 2010, at the funeral home. Rev.
