William E. Price, Sr., age 90, of New Castle, passed away the morning of September 15, 2019 at his residence. Born September 24, 1928 in New Castle, he was the son of Benjamin Price and Vivian Indalee (Pearso) Price and step-son to Ada Evans Price. Bill was preceded in death on October 4, 2018 by his wife of 68 years, Beverly (Connors) Price, whom he married February 11, 1950. A New Castle High School graduate, Bill served his country in the U.S. Navy, aboard the USS Coral Sea, during the Korean War from 1948-1952. He attended Youngstown State University to obtain a degree in hydraulics. He was employed as a millwright for 30 years with Youngstown Sheet and Tube until his retirement in 1983. Bill was a member of GBU and VA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at his camp at Tionesta and also loved to bowl. Bill was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates Fan and loved crossword puzzles. He is survived by a daughter, Ronalyn (Edward) Eppinger of New Bedford, PA; two sons, William (Jessica) Price, Jr. and Jeffrey Price, all of New Castle; one sister, Betty Sanders of Cortland, Ohio; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ben Price and Harry Price, and a sister Dottie Price. Visitation will be held on Thurs from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 4:30 pm with Rev. Marsha Parrish officiating.
