William T. Richards, age 90, of New Castle, passed away the early morning of Oct. 21, 2023, at Clen-Moore Place.

Born Aug. 12, 1933, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Thomas and Frieda (McClelland) Richards.

He was married for 67 years to his beloved wife, Joan D. (Rung) Richards, who survives.

William was a graduate of New Castle High School. He was a member of the United States Army, where he was stationed in Korea. He was employed by Bell Telephone as a Supervisor, until his retirement. William enjoyed golfing, hunting, bowing, and wintering in Floridia for over 20 years. William will always be remembered as the best whistler, and a one-of-a-kind family man who always enjoyed the times he spent with is family, at their homes. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his wife, William is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline (Nicholas) Manolis, and Susan Otlowski, both of New Castle; son Jeffrey (Chris) Richards of Finley Lake, NY; one sister, Judith Wingfield of New Castle; and five grandchildren, Craig Richards, Autumn Richards, Taylor (Sean) Ross, Maddison (Conor) Azevedo, and Julia Manolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carol J. Pearson, infant sister, Rosalynn Richards, half-sister, Helane Baldwin, and brother-in-law, Charles Wingfield.

Services will be held at a later date.
