William Paul Ross, 55, New Castle, PA passed away October 10, 2010 surrounded by his wife and children.Paul was born in Charleston, WV, on July 8, 1955 to Patricia Bennett and the late William L. Ross. On April 10, 1976 he married the former Sharon K. Harlan, she survives. He was a graduate of Mainland High School in Dayton Beach, FL. Paul graduated from Anderson University, Anderson, IN and Paul worked for Fishers Big Wheel in Michigan for 15 years. For the past five years he was employed as a school bus driver for First Student Bus Company of New Castle. Paul was a member of First Church of God, Euclid Ave., where he served the Lord faithfully throughout the years. He served as a trustee and with the youth group as well as taught Sunday school. He enjoyed volunteering with the Underground Refuge Christian Recreation Center. Outside of his church service, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Logan Robert Gudyk. He loved to drive school bus.Paul is survived by his wife, Sharon, his daughters, April Ross and Stacy Gudyk and husband Robert all of New Castle; three sisters, Cheryl Montoya, Ronda Zeigler, and Becky Joe, all of Florida; five brothers, Daniel Cales, David Cales, Gene Cales, and Tommy Cales, all of Florida, and James Ross of Illinois; and one grandson, Logan Robert Gudyk; his mother and stepfather, Patty and Benny Bennett in New Smyrna Beach, Florida; as well as his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fred and Carol Harlan of New Castle.Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his father.Visitation will be at 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road and 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2010 at First Church of God, Euclid Avenue.A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2010, at the church. The Rev. William Hunley will be officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Baptist Church Cemetery in Harlansburg.The family of William Paul Ross suggests that donations be made to the Underground Refuge Christian Recreation Center at 12 W. Euclid Ave., New Castle, PA 16105.
