William E.
Rudesill
Apr 15, 1942 — Jul 3, 2024
William Eugene Rudesill, 82, of Slippery Rock Township, Ellwood City, PA passed away on July 3, 2024, in his home surrounded by his family.
He was born April 15, 1942, to the late Eugene H. Rudesill and Grace Porter Rudesill. In later years he also had two stepfathers, Willis Noel and Anthony Lombardo.
Bill 'Rudy' graduated from Mohawk High School in 1961 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English and Social Studies from Clarion State University in 1968. He was a member of the Theta Xi Fraternity. It was there that he met his wife, Rebecca 'Becky' Weeber. They were married on July 26, 1969. They enjoyed hunting with family at Willis Noel's camp in McKean County, PA for many years.
Rudy was an avid reader and knowledgeable on a variety of topics. He taught 8th and 10th grade English at Laurel High School for 35 years. While there, he met other outdoorsmen and enjoyed their annual musky fishing trip in Canada for over 50 years.
He also taught some of his hunting and fishing skills to his two daughters, Emily and Bonnie and his grandson Damien, all of whom he dearly loved.
In Rudy's younger years he coached girls' softball for the Laurel Recreation Association and was an active member in the Coachmen Club, having been involved in their pheasant raising project and cooking chili for their ice fishing contest.
In his later years he and his brother, Charles, enjoyed breakfast and fellowship at Tanner's Restaurant with a group of men who were all relatives of those who lost their lives in the July 1964 Cyanamid Explosion.
In addition to his parents and stepfathers, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Rudesill; sister-in-law, Shirley Rudesill; and brother-in-law, James Minner.
He is survived by his wife Becky; two daughters, Emily Fennick (fiancé', Eric Miladin) and Bonnie Bayuk (partner, Sean McConahy); one grandson, Damien Micco; brother, Charles (Becky) Rudesill; sister, Jean Minner; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Shober, Three Rivers Hospice and Dr. Ali Amjad and staff at AHN New Castle for the kindness and care given to Rudy during his illness.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 11th from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at Harmony Baptist Church, 4103 Ellwood Road, New Castle, PA 16101.
A memorial service will immediately follow at 5:00 PM at the church with Pastor Jeffery MacKay and Pastor Robert Weeber officiating.
