William F. Salem, Jr., age 93, of North Lima, Ohio, passed away the morning of January 8, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital in Youngstown.

Born January 19, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of William F. and Frances (Rockwood) Salem.

He was preceded in death on October 19, 2022, by his beloved wife of 60 years, Marjorie M. (Ericson) Salem, whom he married August 11, 1962.

Bill received his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in 1952. He then joined the United States Naval Reserves during the Korean Conflict until 1954 achieving the rank of Lieutenant.

After his 20-year employment with Moore Products Company as a Sales Engineer, he retired in 1992 until gaining employment with W.B. Wells Company for another 8 years, retiring in 2000.

He is survived by his three children, their spouses, and his grandchildren. Susan and John Calhoun (Joshua, Samuel and David), William and Kim Salem (Danielle, Nicholas, Elizabeth and Matthew), and Thomas and Karen Salem (Madelyn, Eric and Benjamin); one sister, Dorothy Prokop of Libertyville, IL.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald Salem.

Visitation will be held on Sat. January 13th from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., New Castle.

A funeral service will take place at the funeral home immediately following visitation at noon, with Pastor Mike Dunn from Orchard Hill Church officiating, and the New Castle Honor Guard conducting military rites.

Burial will be along side his wife in Mount Hermon Cemetery.
