William Swope, age 82, of New Castle, PA, passed away at his residence, the morning of Dec. 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Born March 31, 1942, in Ellwood City, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph and Helen (Kerr) Swope.

On May 15, 1965, he married his beloved wife of 59 years, Kathy (Winter) Swope. She survives at home.

William was a 1961 graduate of Ellwood City High School. He was employed by McClymond's Supply and Transit, where he worked as a truck driver for 25 years, until his retirement. William enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the NRA. What William treasured most in life, was spending time with is family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, William is survived by one son, Chris (Karen) Swope of New Castle, PA; one sister, Linda Dasher of Coral Gables, Fl; three grandchildren, Jacob, Jason, and Julianne Swope; and his niece and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 11th from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday Dec. 22nd, at noon, at Wayside Emmanuel Church, 4437 Mitchell Road, New Castle, PA 16105.
