Winifred D. Harlan, age 94, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of Nov. 28, 2019, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born May 5, 1925, in Ebensberg, Pa., she was the daughter to the late David M. and Viola V. (Johns) Jervis. She married her beloved husband, Glenn E. Harlan, on Oct. 16, 1944. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2001. Winifred worked at Vital Records for 15 years. She loved spending time with her family and playing the piano and the organ. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church, in Harlansburg, Pa., where she was very active. Winifred was the pianist and organist for many years and also taught Sunday school and bible studies. Mrs. Harlan is survived by one son, Timothy L. and wife Pamela Jo (Pallott) Harlan of New Castle, Pa., one grandson Timothy J. and wife Courtney (Castaldi) Harlan, and two great-grandchildren, Barrett and Branson Harlan. Along with her parents and husband, Glenn, Winifred was preceded in death by four brothers, Theodore, John Thomas, Melvin and William Jervis and three sisters, Florence Elliott, Goldie Wimer and Jane Rector. Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 2nd from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tues., at the funeral home, with Rev. Ron Eade, Rev. Zach Dudenhofer, Rev. John Yergan and Rev. Lois A. LaGatta officiating.
