Cunningham Funeral Home, our mission is to help families create personalized funeral experiences that honor the lives of their loved ones. History
For six generations, R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory has been one of the county’s oldest family-owned businesses. Cunningham’s was founded in 1848 by Washington Cunningham, who was also a cabinetmaker. The first location was in downtown New Castle at the site of the Olde Post Office Complex.
Our present location was built in 1960. In 2008, we added on-site crematories for both individuals and beloved pets. Located at 2429 Wilmington Road in New Castle, we are proudly owned by Roger D. Cunningham and Michael S. Cunningham.
